Cheers all. That's put my mind at rest! Got my first brew in a PB in the bedroom and this will be replaced with my second brew, which i'm bottling. Good to know they'll be fine. Both brews are from kits but will be looking at AG soon, once i get my shed up!

Good evening all, How important is it to have a consistent temperature for carbonation after bottling? My beer has been in the FV at 21C for a couple of weeks when i start bottling at the weekend. I'll be putting the bottles in whatever space i can find in the house (Mrs will be pleased!!) but...

I've been collecting bottles ready for my first brew and gotta admit that the thought of cleaning and sanitising the lot seemed like a huge chore! Some good tips there :cheers3:

Yeah i've convinced the Mrs the first brew is a trial run so need to get cracking on my first 'proper' brew right away! I'm going to need to more space soon though and am contemplating a brew shed aunsure....

I've gotten myself confused by Googling. What you've posted is spot on. I was looking at pictures like this and thinking i had that extra cap that goes inside missing. I can see now that mine is built in.

Its one of those 'cup' style airlocks. Been having a Google and it appears there should also be a small plastic cap that goes inside but it didn't come with the kit (or i've misplaced it). Suggestions seem to be using a small bit of sanitised tin foil as a replacement so will try that when i get...

Thanks for the welcome! Beer seems to be fermenting nicely and the water bath staying at a steady temperature. Made one, possibly two, mistakes! I hadn't clipped the cap onto the air lock properly and i also only put filtered water in the airlock (not sanitiser/alcohol). The cap didn't come off...
