I ferment in a 13.5 litre stainless steel pan with a normal pan lid - no seal, no airlock - no problems - keep it simple - can cool it in the sink - can warm it in the sink..........

I've been working on it for decades with no discernible improvement. The trick is to brew loads and loads of beer- I mean loads and loads, so that you've always got two or three to keep you going while the others are conditioning. And even then it's a struggle.
 
Yeah i've convinced the Mrs the first brew is a trial run so need to get cracking on my first 'proper' brew right away! I'm going to need to more space soon though and am contemplating a brew shed aunsure....
