Hello. Friendly neighbourhood American here. I lived in the US during Trump's first term, not too far from his resort in palm beach. I was working at a restaurant on the same island actually. Anyhow. I can tell you that the day to day chaos of that man running my country made things absolutely intolerable.
Never in my adult life have I ever been so consistently and thoroughly terrified on a week to week basis, and that's not even considering the global implications of his nonsense. That was just the national domestic stuff. It was absolutely manic my friend.
On a local level to where I lived he absolutely destroyed the local hospitality industry on palm beach island coming down every weekend pretty much for years on holiday during busy season. All the roads would have to be closed and the highways from Palm beach airport to the resort, causing huge traffic problems and and people just started avoiding the area. A lot of the local businesses, mine included, just stopped opening for long stretches of busy season weekends because it was so disruptive have the guy around.
Sorry to like vent about trump when we are talking about biden, but I just wanted to frame my opinion that I, as an American that isn't a fan of either of them politically, will be voting absentee for Biden this year. I'd rather frail and forgetful than chaotic and malevolent.
I've not lived back home under Biden so I can't really comment much, but I know my friends and family have been less stressed socially since Biden got in, and that's enough for me.
