B&M is doing Brains Bitter 79p a bottle. The bitters not worth shouting about but its certainly not drain cleaner. Bottles are rewlly easy to de label too.
 
Haven't yet found the need to buy bottles. There are a number of possible outlets to get free bottles. Your local pub(s) most are happy to give them away, it saves them money in disposal costs. Also worth approaching your local council re-cycling centre, I've had loads of free bottles from this source.
Swing tops might be the only exception to this that I can think of.

I found buying beer for the bottles made me leave my first few brews alone to give them time to condition and I cant brew enough quickly enough to keep up with my demand so always worth knowing whats about.

61 Euros for the bottles and 35.80 Euros for postage . . . Just short of 100 Eu for 100 Bottles . . ..

Or 179 quid for 100 bottles with beer in 'em :hmm: :hmm: :hmm: :hmm:
 
i bought a load of swing top bottle, 1lt ones actually, not sure if the same rings true for the 500ml one but i had quite a few that just decompressed over time, i have since given up on them since AG as i do not want to waste it. The local pub is a definite good source and as said, they are more than happy to give them to you as long as you collect them regular. Shepherd neame bottles are my fave choice as they are easily de-labelled and are quite short and stumpy and you can get a good pour-in-one from them without glugging.
