If you have the room go for 120l. I paid about £14. I store all my grains in it and a load of other brewing equipment. All sealed so no animal or kid can get to it

I don't like the blue plastic barrels because they look too much like the stuff you see in prepper freak videos where they think the flat earth will get killed by the rolling pin of doom and only people who dove beneath the stuffed crust will survive and be the chosen peeples.

Beware of second-hand ones. They're used for bulk storage of foodstuffs in oil. I bought one a couple of years ago that had been used for macerating raw garlic in oil. I knew this when I bought it, but thought I could get rid of the smell. I've tried everything I could think of, but the smell persists. Even used it as a water butt when doing some concreting and that didn't get rid of it either. It's a shame, but I'm not yet ready to face an Imperial Garlic Stout.

Using a large thick bin liner might stop the garlic scent from penetrating your grain

Thanks, Skull. I might try putting 5kg in there for a couple of months- enough for a brew- and see what it comes out like. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. If it's no good, I could always share it with our Transylvanian colleagues.
