Hi Folks,

After having a top time last year...we're doing it again.

For now, get the date in your diaries.

More details to follow but we can promise....beer, beer talk, food, music.

Coachmakers Arms Norwich.

Cheers

Just to add a bit more, should be 20 AG beers across a range of styles. I think we have around a dozen brewers making beer for the day.

I plan to offer 2 beers:

- An English Pale Ale: I've test brewed it a couple of times, and think it is improving each time
- Citrus Wit: Had a first try at this one yesterday, will test brew it once more before the festival

My artwork drafts below.

Cheers

Things are moving! Tickets are on sale £12 (£25 for a limited number of VIP tickets). This gets you 12 x one thirds, from a choice of 19 homebrewed beers. Tutored tastings from CAMRA. Triangle taste tests and more! It's all for charity: Air Ambulance and It's On the Ball (Testicular Cancer).

Tickets are available here

Our new shiny club website is here

We had another great Norwich Amateur Brewers meeting last night. The challenge for the meeting was to make a SMASH, and there was a great diversity of approaches, including a very brave (and lovely) 100% Wheat Malt / Perle SMASH.

Hope to see you there!

At a loose end on Saturday? In the East of England? Why not come to our HOMEBREW festival. Coachmakers Arms Norwich.

The bar has been built. The chiller checked and tested. 22 cornies will be arriving later today.

You know you want to....

Cheers

Today is the day!

The VIP bags are ready. The triangle-taste-test ready to go. The tasting panel are thirsty. The punters are getting excited.

and the beer. The beer! Lots of it! All lovely!

Walk-ups welcome.

Hope to see some of you later on....

Thanks for your good wishes. It was a top day. We started out with 20 beers on offer, with 6 reserve kegs. This was to deal with any beers that went off, or that ran out early. All the reserve kegs were put on quite early in the day.

Attendance was up by 50% on last year - we were rammed out. Lots of money raised for local charities.

The CAMRA tutored tastings went well as usual - 3 sessions with 15 delegates at each.

One of our members brewed a Ghost Ship clone (with recipe and guidance kindly provided by Ed Razzall at Adnams) and did a blind tasting against the commercially brewed version. The results were very encouraging for home brewers.

Photos show the build (kegs/bar/inline chiller), the bar, the festival in full swing.

I'm off to help out with teardown.

Cheers

Martin
