    recommended websites for beer kits

Currently use www.shop4homebrew.co.uk for the purchase of my beer kits. But am interested in what other sites people use, and subsequently recommend so that I can check them out for myself for variety of kits.

    c02 question

Sounds like a regulation to me. Do you need to chain it to the wall? Are you likely to be knocking it over?

    edme's stout, spray malt?

Light Spray Malt and Sugar is a great combination with the Edme Stout. The more light spray malt you use will result in more body and better flavour. The more sugar you you use should result in a slightly higher ABV. Just now I'm drinking an Edme stout mixed with just DARK spray malt which...

    36 pints of nog?

I like the Woodfordes Nog. In fact I'm brewing my second batch in the FV at the mo. Brewing less will raise your final ABV,and give a stronger taste.

    Carbonating with CO2/Nitrogen?

Stout and smooth flow beers I think are carbonated with a mixture of Nitrogen/CO2. Does anybody force carbonate bitters/ales with this? If so what are the results like and what ratio of gas is used?

    Freeze LME?

I have some liquid malt Extract in a sterilised container in the fridge. Is it possible to freeze this until I need it next, or should I keep it in the fridge? How long can I keep it in the fridge for?

Priming with Liquid Malt Extract? DRM? Sugar?

I would use sugar and DME "like for like". If using LME I would use a little more. I.e- 1 tsp sugar = 1.25 tsp LME

    Cornelius/King Keg advice

I'm looking to go upmarket from my budget barrels, and am considering a re-con 19ltr cornelius keg. Are these the best way to keg beer kits? Do they make the beer taste any better than plastic kegs? Also I like the look of the float draw system which is used on the "top tap" King Keg. Has...

    Malt extract question

I have found out that when using just Malt Extract instead of Sugar to expect a higher FG. Also the brew would require a longer conditioning period. I have chucked a full tin (1.5kg) of the light malt extract with the Coopers bitter tin into the FV. I will be sticking it into a budget barrel...

    Malt extract question

I'm going to do a couple of single tin kits, EDME Irish Stout and Coopers Bitter. I have stacks of brewing sugar and a Thomas Coopers tin (1.5kg) of dark malt extract (which can be used for the stout?), and another coopers tin of light malt extract (which could be used for the Bitter?). Both...

    Using 5 ltr water bottles?

I'm currently have some Admirals Reserve in the FV, and found that I have both my pressure barrels and glass bottles in use with current conditioning brews. I have used the PET bottles in the past but at the mo I have a load of the 5ltr mineral water bottles (the big type you get from...
