    The recipe I'm following has malic acid in it but I was thinking of adding Bramley apples for flavour would there still be the need for the malic acid? or is it a case of one or the other?

    Thanks HB at last an answer to my question.I've scoured the "net" and quite a few people use this method without any problems.I too would have been sceptical if hadn't have come from Charley Talley's own lips.

    Well it's still going if now slow just wasn't sure if it should slow down so soon after going like a steam train.I have a hydrometer so i will be able to look for 2 days of same readings. Thanks for your replies.

    I'm currently brewing Fermentall's turbo cider recipe ( used spray malt instead of sugar) and not sure if everything is going ok.First day after pitching yeast nothing happened,put it down to room not warm enough so moved it to small warm cupboard ,2nd day started to fermenting,3rd and 4th day...

    working on the figures given in podcast 1oz of vinegar and bleach in 5 gallons of water it actually is closer to 25ml of each for 20 ltr of water.

    I have no Idea what the vinegar brings but this solution is a no rinse way of sanitising. edit vinegar acidifies the solution

    You have to make sure the bleach is diluted with water first before adding the vinegar.
