    Setting up a Beer Engine

Here is what I have. Beer engine is set up. Cask is Spiled and Fobbing a bit, and hopefully it's on good condition for tomorrow night's Football. (Okay, Hand-Egg, as this is a British forum)

    Brewers Friend or Beersmith

I use BeerSmith. Works fine for me.

    Chronical

I have a 14g Brewmaster Edition and it's probably the best quality improvement. I don't have a cellar so I don't have a place with stable temps. Mine was a out $1000 US all in because I bought the Temp Control, Blow off tube, wheels, and a bunch of triclamp fittings. Sent from my 2PYB2...

    Kegging and gas supply question

CO2 is like LPG in that it's normally liquid in the tank and the pressure will stay fairly constant until the liquid runs out and then it's only gas. Pressure will drop rapidly after that. Sent from my 2PYB2 using Tapatalk

    Silly questions from the Colonials

I've noticed that the airport bars, at least in D terminal, don't really have a great selection. I've been in the land of no beer for two months so just a pint or two and I'm good.

    Silly questions from the Colonials

I'm sitting at Amsterdam Schipol Airport, and I believe I may have actually encountered Chavs in the wild. Didn't take a picture was more interested in searching for Lambic. Sent from my 2PYB2 using Tapatalk

    World’s Strongest Man

I have a friend who is in the process of qualifying for WSM. I'm pretty strong and the stuff he does is just insane. Sent from my 2PYB2 using Tapatalk

    Silly questions from the Colonials

I've learned a few styles mentioned that I hadn't heard before. Which led to more research. Which led to wishing I had a beer.

What process / technique / piece of equipment has improved your beer the most?

Temperature controlled fermenter. I have a SS Brewtech Conical, and I built a "field expedient" glycol chiller as the cold source.

    Greetings from US

I do have a couple porters. Generic Unnamed Porter. This was when I was still doing extract and bottling. It bottle carbed a bit on the low side, but had excellent flavor. The units are all Imperial, so you would need to convert. It is for a five US Gallon finished batch. Steeping Grains...

Getting Started with my Corny Kegs

Here is a link to a carbonation table. I even found a Metric one.

Getting Started with my Corny Kegs

Look up a carbonation table. Take the temperature where you keep the kegs, how many volumes of CO2 the style needs and set the pressure accordingly. Just keep in mind cold beer will absorb more CO2, so you will need to reduce pressure accordingly once it's in a refrigerator. I keg carb...

    Silly questions from the Colonials

So, I've been mostly in a reading mode, trying to absorb homebrewing from a UK point of view. Versus cluttering up other threads I figured I'd ask my silly questions here. I'm familiar with some slang and colloquialisms from owning a couple British motorcycles over the years, as the...

    Setting up a Beer Engine

Thank you very much! That article is the best thing I have read on Cask Ale on a Homebrew Scale! Especially pointing out which methods are not "Real Ale" per CAMRA but preserve the taste. I currently have a fixed 37mbar LPG regulator, but will pick up an adjustable one based on reading the...

    Setting up a Beer Engine

It's funny, I often see Metric measurements, and have to convert in my head to what they are in "Imperial/Customary/whatever we call it now" but the pre decimalization money (in old books) drives me batty. Dumb question. Working with Royal Navy and Royal Air Force, I often hear them give...

    Setting up a Beer Engine

I have been brewing Cask Ale for about a year now, in addition to my Kegged beers. The cask has been set up for Gravity Dispense, and I have a LPG Regulator Cask "Breather". Last Spring, my wife got me an Angram CQ 1/4 Pint Beer Engine from Ebay, it came from England. It has a water cooled...

    Greetings from US

I'm an American who is often in Europe and the Middle East for work. I was initially turned on to Cask Ale by a Royal Navy officer who was an exchange pilot in my squadron years ago. Went a long time without it until I was working in Scotland in 2012, and have my own pin cask and recently...
