    Bottled beer life span.

It is 20 plus 2pint Bulmers cider bottles of Geordie bitter. No hops were used so was quite pleased with those replies. Thanks to all.

    Bottled beer life span.

Hi, I have some beer that has been bottled for many months. Several years ago I recall breweries having to throw away thousands of gallons of beer that were thought to be "past their sell by date" as a result of industrial strikes. I am wondering then if my bottles may in fact be heading for...

    Bottle washers.

Hi Chippy, These are also very good, I’m having some. With what you’ve turned up to date I should never have this problem again. Many thanks.

    Bottle washers.

Thanks for that Chippy. They look likely to be a good very cheap alternative to keep as a reserve. Thanks again.

    Bottle washers.

Hi Chippy, Yep that's the one I was looking for. You are, without doubt, both a gentleman and a scholar. But then again, I should'nt expect anything less from someone who hails from the Furness peninsula. :hat: Many thanks.

Yes will do but must first hold on in case anyone knows of the website that was previously mentioned or any other that stocks the washers.

    Bottle washers.

Yes good idea as an alternative solution, but the ones I bought online were perfect so would like go down that route again. But will certainly bear your advice in mind as a plan B.

    Bottle washers.

I am wondering if anyone knows where I can replace the rubber collar washers with an internal thread like the ones used on the old Bulmers cider bottles. 2 years ago I received a reply from a poster on here giving the web address of a seller which I bought some from but turning up the...

Have I used the wrong water?

Just sampled the first of the bottles and it tastes fine. No reason to suspect that the rest won't.

Have I used the wrong water?

Thanks posters I have taken all on board and will wait and see the results when I open the first bottle which will be approximately 5-6 weeks from now. What I will do though is post back on the outcome which may help anyone else who has done the same. Many thanks.

Have I used the wrong water?

Many thanks to you all for replying. Just had a look now at day 7 and it seems as if fermentation is ongoing and all looks OK. Wait and see appears to be the thing to do. Perhaps, as the brew is carbonized I am wondering if it would be wise to reduce the amount of priming sugar before bottling.

Have I used the wrong water?

Hi, I have been using Tesco's 5 litre Ashbeck still water for my kit brews but just recently they announced that they no longer stock the 5 litre containers so I had to buy their 2litre bottles instead. I inadvertantly used 20 odd litres of their sparkling water instead of still water to start a...

    R.I.P Thread.

Does anyone know of a soccer player who won an English, Scottish and Irish cup winners medal and know the name of the clubs he played for?

    Sediment on the move.

Have still got about 40 Bulmer’s in regular use over 51 years. I have to replace the red collar washers periodically online. Never had one bottle breakage in all that time. ........ lucky me!
