    False Bottom

    Heres a a very cheap false bottom option for a MT: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/10112530 I think you would have to make the holes in the mesh slightly wider and be lucky enough to have a vessel that it fits......but its cheap as chips!!

    1kg Rhubarb

    I have just been handed a Kg of rhubarb, can I get away with 1kg of rhubarb for a gallon of wine or is that stretching it a bit far? :cheers:

    What to do...I'm so indecisive...

    Do I: A) Get an AG set up a.s.a.p using cheapest goods to hand or B) Take a bit more time and get some SS stock pots converted (sounds fun) and sort a decent MT out etc. If going down the cheapest/quickest route how long generally does a homebrewer use their first brewery before making MK2...

    Keg Rules

    Howdy Does anyone know what the rules are on buying Kegs? Can you buy them directly from a micro brewery and do what want with them? ie chop the top off. No doubt this has probably been covered already but couldnt find anything. :cheers:

    Airlock activity

    After fining/racking a gallon of WOW 2 weeks ago I have just checked on it and found that the air lock is active again! :shock: (very very slow but co2 is escaping the lock). Prior to the first rack, the pressure had equalised in the airlock so I used PS, CT and finings etc in the usual...

    Freezing Wine

    Evenin All Just been reading a dutch guys blog about freezing wine. http://wijnmaker.blogspot.com/2010/01/freeze-it.html (scroll down to get English version) He claims that freezing and thawing a young wine will improve the body/bouquet etc, an interesting idea. Has anyone ever tried this?

    Is it too late to add citric acid?

    Condensation in Airlock

    Hi All I have condensation forming on the inside of an airlock, should it be changed or will it be ok to leave?. The condensation is on the tubing that is exposed to the brew and will eventually fall into the mix, is there potential for spoilage if this occurs? Thanks

    Shelf life of CT's, pottasium sorbate etc

    Hi Peeps I have a number of bags and jars of CT's, citric acid, potassium sorbate etc that came in a large box of home brew paraphernalia aquired through freecycle. There is no best before date on the bags or jars but they do look very old, is it best to be cautious and buy these additives new...
