Hi

Just took my gravity reading of my 1st kit brew after 7 days in the fv it has gone down to 1020 i will take a reading each day now, do you experienced out there believe it still has a bit to go?

Hi abi

From my limited knowledge I would leave it alone for another 3-4 days before testing again. This is just to reduce the chance of infection. What temperature are you brewing at? What was you OG and you target FG?

1020 is a bit high. What kit was it?

I generally leave my beers alone for 10-12 days and then check the SG.[/quote

It was burton extra strong bitter and i added a bit more spray malt. Ok will not test until sunday or something. the temp is a pretty steady 18 - 20 c, i dont think an infection would be an issue as i just open the tap and fill the test jar up.

1020 seems to be the magical number that some brews stick at, i would leave it a couple of days then if it's not changed at all have a look at BigYins guide to stuck fermentations in the how to section
