So this is the only pic.
New set up for hop sock.

Slow 2nd run off, probably due to flour at bottom of grain bag. O.G. 1.044
Other than that was a good brew day.

Nice frothy head this morning,so everything seems to be going well. :)

Nicely done Llannige :thumb:
Do I take it from your pic that you boil your hops in the sock suspended in the wort ?

Yeh Ive always brewed that way.
I put a few boiled marbles in the bottom of the sock to help weigh it down.
Does'nt seem to lack any "hoppiness" and results in a "cleaner" wort.

Pleased it went well, am interested to hear how it turns out.

Nice one Llannige, hope it goes ok.

Warning though, this needs at least a month to condition to be anywhere near its best. Amarillo, especially in those quantities are bloody powerful things.

Bottling day.
Trusty bottling stick at the ready(Mrs llan)easier with an assistant.

Using a bench capper is the biz.

48 Bottles @ 4.5% (1.009 FG)

Happy with that. :thumb:

Super!

I like that floor standing crown capper, I have a bottling stick too - great bit of kit :thumb:

Excellent looking blonde colour. Maris Otter is an incredibly flexible malt, up to now I have only used it in UK ales such as Yorkshire bitter, Burton Ales etc, but for American Pale ales and Ambers have gone for our local Australian Malts which are more akin to USA two row. I recently ran out of the Aussie ale malt but had 5k of Maris Otter Thomas Fawcett floor malted and made an American Amber with Chinook, Cascade, Amarillo and US-05. Couldn't do any harm, hey.

I bottled it tonight and had a couple of sneaky glasses. :drink: Bloody lovely, can't wait till it's conditioned.

Sampled a couple of bottles last night.

Went down very well. :thumb:

Thanks again to jamesb for the recipe.

Bishops Cross Amarillo Gold. Da iawn!

[deleted](Bishop of the wood) is the name of my Road and I thought "Grog yr Esgob" had a nice ring to it for a Brewery name :)

[edited by james - too much personal information given out!]

llannige, I've deleted the name of your road. There is only *one* in South Wales so I thought it was for the best.

I'm sure the Welsh speakers here can still work it out though..
