Well done everyone. Iām made up with 2nd place in the American Ales. Absolutely made up.
Well done all!.. Really good audio/video for award announcement.. Thanks to nick and and the team for organising the event. really happy with silver for best bitter (first bitter i've ever brewed!) and a HM for a schwarzbier.

just got home...bloody knackered...its been a long three days....judging 36 beers over that period
like i said on the video....sometimes the comments on the scoresheets might come across as unfairly critical....they're not meant that way...they are well meant, with the intention that brewers might be able to go away and at least tweak their beers or address serious failings....after all...we all want to brew better beer and we all want to taste better beer.
So...please take your feedback in the spirit it was intended and we look forward to tasting more of your beers next year.
Oh yeah...you all know what I look like now dont you!!

A few photos from judging yesterday at the ACB Comp. Highlights include Steve Plampton opening the second bottle over a bucket after the first one gushed and hit the ceiling; Nick sniffing deeply whilst judging with Jim; Marc with his head in his hand as he writes about another fermentation fault in the British Golden Ales; Keith holding his hands up saying 'no more impys'; aaannnd the 'high quality bus replacement service' from Norwich..
Top day out, well run and organised by ACB and Nick.
I enjoyed judging monastics in the morning, and strong beers in the afternoon.
I was delighted to share the initial judging on the old ale that won BOS - it was just superb - a style that I don't often seek out (most familiar with the Adnams expression of this style).
Super day. I would recommend a visit to Ipswich - they're not all carrot crunching inbreds...

All scoresheets now uploaded. Let me know if you have any issues with scan quality. The handwriting I might not be able to help you with...I'm sure the judge in question will be happy to decipher their own drunken scrawl.

Anybody who placed, should have received an email last night, asking to check that their contact address is correct, before I start sending out prizes and medals on Thursday.
You don't need to reply to the email...just log in and check your address is correct and amend if necessary.

Just a quick update regarding postage of prizes...
A number of Bronze medals and associated prizes were sent out late last week and should have been received Saturday or early this week.
The remaining Bronze medals and Silver medals and associated prizes have just been posted in the last half an hour.
Gold medals and associated prizes will be posted later on this week (if you won a silver/bronze as well as a gold medal they will all be packaged together).
