Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone can help me identify a coupling I have on a mains feed. The 15mm copper connector is a JG one and split on the threads under o-ring. Seems it's a brass one now with tapered 1/2" bsp but nervous the angle not designed for interference fit.
Local plumbers merchants not much help. The house is mid 70's an I recall cutting a piece of the pipe about 15 years ago to get this one. I think there's an insert with an o-ring.

You want a 20mm MDPE to 15mm copper fitting by the look of it? I can't find one on Screwfix with an elbow but they do have straight ones.

The black pipe should have an insert into it which makes it rigid at the joint.

You can use 1/2" BSP as long as both

I used to use them in an industrial setting underground so less issue if there's a leak. The fitting you have is just an older style of MDPE fitting.

The inside has about 3 or 4 rings that clamp tight around the pipe stopping any leaks but I understand your reservations as it's indoors.
