ahhh 2.8% no wonder I could drink more of that. Still I liked it. No accounting for taste.

Probably only been 2.8% since they halved the duty on <2.8% beer in 2011, a lot of Big Brewery beers in the low 3%'s range got reformulated to 2.8% when that happened. Mackeson is another example, and ISTR one of the white ciders like Diamond White getting reinvented as 2.8% at one stage???

If you mean Thatcher's Green Goblin it's still around, it's listed on the ASDA website as out of stock but you can get it direct or from the likes of Beers of Europe.
 
I really don't like Greene King beers, but agree this wasn't bad. In my opinion the best of the beers from the 2.8% fad. The Fullers one (I think it was called Atom) was very disappointing.
