ok, so I've read these forums for a while, and make cider from apples every year, but want to branch out into something different, so thought I'd make use of some blackberries that I currently have in the freezer, picked a couple of weeks ago.

I probably only have enough to make 1 gal of something to start with...
so I'm looking for a recipe that will use these - what else would you recommend?

1.5 kg blackberries
1kg sugar
250ml grape concentrate or (1.5lb apples)
yeast & nutrient
500g elderberrys
pectolase
citric acid

(tannin if not using elderberrys)
I substituted the grape concentrate with 4 apples cut up (about 1.5lb)

2pts boiling water over fruit add sugar leave overnight
make to gallon with cold water and add rest of ingredients
leave 48 hours, stir and add to demijohn.

You know the rest

Its bubbling away now so cant guarantee its nice but maybe we could both give our views in a few months time if you try it?
