Can we all list are local brew pubs and brewery tap rooms?
I had a few beers and a pizza in zero degrees in reading on the weekend and whilst I support the idea, four beers on tap in a brew pub?? The pizza was good, beers good but not fantastic. I just had a feeling they didn't know who they were.. Brew pub, pizza restaurant or cocktail bar??
I wouldn't go out of my way to visit but would certainly pop in if I was in the area.
So where else can I go?

I have been to zero degrees in Cardiff, it was a Sunday evening, massive place but nobody in there. Agree what is it supposed to be. Sports in the middle, a poor bar area, fermenters stuck in front of the restaurant that was offering lobster etc.

Food was nice and I enjoyed their American wheat.

Brewing brothers, the imperial, Hastings

They have one sometimes two of their own brews on the menu plus 9 other craft beers sourced from other micro breweries and craft beer makers. They make pizza there but I don't really go for that. There's always a good amount of custom when I go it's a great way to try new beers and chat about beer. If anyone is in the area they should stop for a pint.

Zero degrees is a chain, there's one in Bristol as well. My bro in law, really into his craft beer like no other, has mixed feelings about it. But if Cardiff is your scene there's the Tiny Rebel brewery in Newport, Pipes brewery, and not really a brew pub but the Brains craft beer bar (not too far from their actual brewery) is a nice place with good beers.

I'm not far from Bermondsey, which opens me up to Anspach & Hobday, Kernel, Partizan, Fourpure, Southwark Brewing Co., BBno. and probably some others. I've been to most the breweries along beer mile and they all produce fantastic beers.

In Angel (also not too far from my office) there's Brewhouse & Kitchen Islington which I think is a chain. Their own beers are a bit hit and miss, but they serve a good selection of craft beers.

Being in London I'm only a tube's ride away from some great brewpubs, but I'll let others more local to their areas fill those ones in.

Few that I've visited / know of:

http://www.cannonroyall.co.uk/index.html - The pub it is attached to is called The Fruiterers Arms

http://www.sadlersales.co.uk/ + Tap Room http://www.windsorcastleinn.co.uk/

http://www.winningpostworcester.co.uk/

http://popesbrew.wixsite.com/beers - Tap room only open on Fridays.

http://churchendbrewery.co.uk/ + Tap room a bit more local to me http://thedragoninnworcester.co.uk/index.php

http://temevalleybrewery.co.uk/ + Attached pub - http://www.the-talbot.co.uk/ (Apparently Nigel Slater worked here in his yoof).

I quite liked the beer there. I think they keep the number of beers down due to space. But the ones I have had were quite drinkable.

If you are in the Reading area, check the Great Expectations on London Street. Not been there for a few years, but was good last time I was there.

Brewhouse & Kitchen is a chain doing food and beer, with emphasis on the latter and they have open breweries in the pubs. They're featured in the latest CAMRA Beer magazine, my local one in Gloucester Docks is great - good beer and a cracking location right on the water's edge.

And it's next to Tank, which isn't a brewpub as such but the tap for Gloucester Brewery, which also serves a lot of craft beer.

The only one of these I've been to is Brewhouse and Kitchen in Portsmouth. Very good beer and very nice food. The bar staff were also very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the beer they were serving.

I want to open one soon in or near Redhill Surrey, got a few possible places on the cards.
Hi Simon
The half moon in Balcombe is now a village co-op pub, would seem ideal for you may i say...you may be interested
NOT OWNED BY THE CO_OP!!

Interesting I looked round it when it was for sale but a commercial mortgage was to expensive. I will send them an email and see if I could be involved in making it a brew pub. Cheers for the info.

OK mate..our messages may have crossed + mail I still reckon there is an op for you here. You could also supply the Balcome cricket Club down the (long track) to the left of the pub....great club house and a pretty forward thinking bunch and loads always going on there. Hope thats useful.

That's a shame you could get a loaf of bread and a pint of milk whilst you getting a pint in

this is a serious conversation going on here...having met Simon and the village is in the local press:!:

Yeah loads of good places in Cardiff for craft beer. Hop bunker is another and small bar.

We went to zero degrees because we heard the food was decent which it was.

Actually Bristol tonight in business, walked down the road from hotel and there was zero degrees so went in for a pizza. Very nice. Place is a lot different to Cardiff, much more set up as a restaurant. They had their usual beers plus 3 specials. All were nice.
