This is a great pint of good honest bitter. Not dark, nor light nor red or anything fancy. Just a great pint of copper coloured English bitter. I used filtered tap water for mine - we have one of those fancy under sink filter things - and the taste is reminiscent of a theakston or taylor's brew.

Mine stopped worryingly short at about 1016 and I even pitched more yeast which made no difference. It also took 6 weeks to clear in the pressure barrel but IMHO worth the wait.

I reckon it would do well brewed short as a strong 4.8 ish bitter with the unknown hop bag replaced with a good dose of fuggle or Kent Golding both of which I've got growing in the garden. I mean to try that later this year but first the pleasure of drinking this batch!
