I bought a couple of cheap wine kits from Tesco a couple of months ago while they were on offer (30 Bottle Chardonnay Wine Buddy), think they were £9 each.

I think they would be fairly poor on their own?? so was wondering if it would be OK to use them as a base for a fruit wine (WOW variant) of some kind.

I assume the concentrate would just replace the grape juice that you would usually use?

I was thinking about combining with either fruit juice (say 5 litres) or maybe some tinned fruit (peach or strawberry) and making 5 gallon.

Can anyone see a problem with this?

Cheers.

Nope. Just crush the fruit not splitting the seeds, add a few campdens tabs and leave for 24 hours, then juice it and ferment as normal. :)
