Your link actually supports my point, that it's the carbon that removes chlorine and chloramine, not the RO membrane:-

"CHLORAMINE COMPATIBLE OR VERY LONG LIFE CARBON CARTRIDGE A normal reverse osmosis won't treat the Ammonia component of Chloramines"

With all due respect, I've been dealing with water chemistry, and using an RO system, for nearly 2 decades now. ;)

You can indeed remove chloramine with carbon filtration alone, however you need much larger quantities, with a longer contact period, than you get in a cheapo carbon filter to do so. Chlorine on the other hand is removed quite quickly, and yes a smaller carbon filter will do the job.

I agree with Ade above and use one of these to remove the Chlorine from the tap water before it goes to the Brewing side of the garage.

I replace the Filter itself every year. They ain't cheap but they do the job. :thumb:

BTW, shop around for the first System and any Replacements Filters that you may need. I've seen Replacement Filters priced as high as £100 which is way, way too high!

BTW, according to the sales blurb, this filter is supposed to remove Chloramine ...

Enjoy!
