Hi guys,

I bought a munitions 2 can Irish stout kit a couple of weeks back. I was told i could add cocoa nibs to it once fermentation was finished to add some choclityness to it.

Now its been in there just over a week and i took a sample and tasted nothing and smelled nothing. i also read i have to leave it in for a long time for it to actually work but i thought i should of noticed something by now.

Any other ways to boost the choice in it? I've took a little out and tried some supermarket essence and powder but just made it taste horrible.

Thanks in advance

I would have used chocolate malt. You're making beer not drinking chocolate. ;-)

You could add some now, but it requires soaking in hot water and straining, then boiling, before adding to the FV.

Sam smiths organic chocolate stout uses nibs I believe and that is like drinking a Black Forest gateau. Revolting stuff as far as I'm concerned.
