No idea how to do videos on here...... but my favourite Christmas song is definitely The Darkness - Christmas Time (don't let the bells end). Classic.

I know it naff ...

... but it still makes me smile no matter what time of the year it is ... :thumb:

... and I defy anyone to say they don't recognise the tune before it even starts! :nono: :nono:

PS

The cameo of Rupert the Bear brings back memories of the Christmas that I was about six years old and decided that I wanted an aeroplane.

My argument was that if a stupid bear could fly a plane I didn't see why I couldn't have one!

Just like eating my greens, it was explained to me quite forcefully which is probably why I still remember the "discussion" with my Mum!

Happy Days! :thumb: :thumb:

I have to be the grumpy old man, I'm already sick of xmas songs, since losing the decorations and trees battle this year, up by 23rd of nov' and constant songs in car and house, although still enjoy a fairytale of new york.

Can't seem to get away from this one.

Apparently the kids love it.

Fantastic! ...

... and on the subjects of Donkeys ...

When fishes flew and forests walked
and fig grew upon thorn,
some moment when the moon was blood,
then surely I was born.

With monstrous head and sickening cry
and ears like errant wings,
the devil’s walking parody
of all four footed things.

The tattered outlaw of this earth,
of ancient crooked will,
starve, scourge deride me, I am dumb;
I keep my secret still.

FOOLS! For I also had my hour.
One glorious hour and sweet.
With shouts around me ears and
palms before my feet!

“The Donkey” by G.K.Chesterton

One of my long time remembered favourites, not sure why but its not the usual run of the mill Christmas song.

Again not sure how to upload but check out Shawn Phillips - A Christmas Song

Well, for me it has to be:
"I'm dreaming of a sh*te Christmas". Crosby still makes my teeth gnash, even if I'm no longer young.
Yes, I know, I'm a horrible, antisocial grumpy old sod. But the older I get, the more I like it that way.
Anyway, I have to leave Scotland (briefly thank goodness) to spend Christmas in Manchester - no, worse, Stretford - so I reckon I've a gold-plated excuse.

One of the darkest songs I have ever heard ...

... to remind us that not everyone gets to enjoy "The Season of Goodwill".
