hi all thanks to folks on here got a few nice brews going.
couple of flavoured ciders one turbo cider and a werry kit
what is confusing me is.
i have the cider in a fv (decanted into after fermentation)
allowing to mature ( now about 3 months) then batch prime and bottle if i want carbonated

is this what i shoud be doing
or should i bottle it straight after fermentation and allow it to mature in bottles
thanks all

thats what i thought just was not quite sure.
if i botle after 3 to 6 months and prime will i still get a fizz
thanks for quick reply

I've never had a problem with just bottling it in lightly primed bottles straight out of the FV.

I'd be interested in any reasons why maturation in a large container is somehow better that maturation in a small one - other than the obvious avoidance of the temptation to drink it before it's at its best.

You are more likely to get malolactic fermentation, as once it is infected all of it is where as in a bottle some my undergo MLF others might not.
