Hi,

I am looking to make up a one gallon/five liter batch of Turbo Cider. Looking for recipes online, I notice that some add sugar and some don't. I am wanting to make a dry cider so I was thinking I would not need any sugar...but... would my yeast need to feed on this? If I added the sugar the yeast would consume it all during fermentation leaving the cider dry?

If I am aiming for a dry cider, do I need to add sugar?

I will use sugar for priming.

Any sugars added will be consumed in fermentation resulting in it still being extremely dry with a higher ABV.. Check your fermentable sugar level with a hydrometer and use an online calculator to see how strong it’s gonna turn out, add more sugar till you reach your desired ABV.. Once fermented you can add apple cordial to ur liking when u serve or back sweeten with a non fermentable sweetener, I use erythritol which tastes like natural sugar and doesn’t give u the green apple splatters 💩
