Hi planning on making cider next year ive done some small batch’s this year, but I’ve read some post not on this site that have confused me a little.

Making cider from apples not using a kit do you still need to a sugar on secondary Fermentation to create carbonation or not.?

I read somewhere you don’t because using natural fruit still creates carbonation anyway and adding any sugar will just cause the bottles blow eventually. Is this correct?

Don’t want flat cider
Thanks

Purchase a hydrometer if you don't already have one..... the only way to know for sure when fermentation is done, then you can carbonate to a safe level in your bottles.
