Hi Everyone,

This is my first post on here, I'm relatively new to homebrewing. I made a homebrew cider last October from 2 apple trees in my father-in-laws garden which turned out ok and I've recently made a Geordie bitter kit, which has turned out ok, its not as fizzy as I'd have liked but I'll give it a bit of time.

I'm looking to experiment with ingredients from the garden and looking to make a nettle and dandelion homebrew, possibly a malted nettle and dandelion homebrew.

Are there any successful recipes that you can share?

Cheers!

Im doing a nettle all grain beer when the nettles come out, for 23 litres it calls for 100g of nettles this is a recipe from the Home Brew Beer book by Greg HUGHES

Got round to making the dandelion and nettle beer.
Used one full carrier bag of nettle tips, and 3 small dandelion roots.
Boiled them on the hob for around 30 mins.
Dandelion smelt amazing boiling so I put the 3 of them in.
Added 1kg of sugar, used lager yeast and made it up to around 17 litres.

Result: it tastes awful, too rooty. I've poured most of it away and kept 5 bottles behind to see if it matures with age, probably wont tree it for 6 months or so...
