Whats a 'boots wine and beer tester' for??

Boot's wine and beer tester I think was the old boots hydrometer

Brown DJ's, don't know, but could imagine them being a bugger to clean

I think the wine tester was a hydrometer inside a glass tube with a rubber ball on the end, so you could suck some wine out of your DJ, read the hydro and squirt it back, a bit like a car battery acid tester, and I would imagine an ideal home for nasty bacteria.

Brown DJs are for red wines, but you can't see through the things for racking. I use clear glass DJs and wrap them in brown paper.
