I've been extract brewing for about 6 months and was going to stick to that for 2014 to get a better understanding of the different varieties of hops, specialty grains etc available.

Not sure if this is a good plan any more, wonder if I should just get stuck into BIAB instead.

What do you all think?

I would certainly recommend the move to BIAB. I went from 2 years of brewing kits straight into it. I guess you must already have a boiler/stock pot of some sort if you are already doing extract brewing? So all you really need is a grain bag.
