Hi all,

My name is David living in South Wales UK, I got a Coopers brew kit for christmas. Just set it up in the kitchen with a heater mat from a water bed wrapped around it to keep the temp up. Hopefully i can get some useful info and tips from the site. The kit is an original cooper lager from a tin.

First questions,
Is temperature important? ie 21deg to 27deg is quite a gap, which is best?
Are the plastic bottles that came with the kit worth keeping once I have used them or are glass ones worth the investment?

Will post again with results of first taste.

as near to 20C if possible as it will be an Ale yeast in that kit.
Most certainly keep the PET bottles they are excellent, in fact go buy more they will last you years.
Glass is traditional but nothing wrong with PET's and they are safer and easier to clean.

Thanks PD, just turned heater mat off, temp was up to 25c!. I am off to do some reading.

Cheers for the replies.
