Ginger beer too thin?

Really wanting to have a go at a ginger beer (recipes required!) but after reading a few recipes online i`ve noticed that no recipe i have found uses anything to give the brew more body. Does ginger beer not need raisins/sultanas or spraymalt etc.?
Please anyone who has a tried & trusted recipe/method please point it this way and keep me right.

You will find a few recipes on the forum. If you are comparing them to old book recipes I think you will find that the forum recipes are more up to date. :thumb:
