Went to pull a pint today, and my hand pump isn't generating any pressure - took the non return valve off the hose, and still nothing, so it looks like some of something inside the pump.
Is this something I could just take apart and spot an obvious failed joint, or best left to a specialist, in which case any recommendations?

Sound like the diaphragm may need replacing. This may help you.

I'd say beer pumps are very user serviceable. But as foxy says, probs your diaphragm or 'rubber washer'

OK, ta.

That video was useful.

Seals look OK to me.

Diaphragm stiff and bubbly, so guess it's just that?

It's labeled as a Hi-Gene pump, and I think they're not made any more?

I don't have a spare rubber sheet so is RLBS the next best place to see if they have a spare kit?

You can measure it and look for a foodsafe washer, I found just reversing mine solved my issue.

RLBS actually came through for about 30 quid and included replacement seals for the incoming beer valve and all the internals too, such as the gasket around the actual moving part.

For the future me, it was a
HD114CYLSeal Kit - Higene / DDG 1/4pt C/on Seal Kit

It took a few goes to reassemble and make work as the new parts were slightly different eg looks like the seals around the shaft have been redesigned.

Very happy now though, ordered a keg from the local :-)

Thanks again, forum.
