Hi All. The s.g. on my 6 bottle cal/conn/merlot is 1066. Not the target recommended 1080-1095. What gravity reading can i hope to start secondary fermentation? The instructions give 1010, Any help appreciated.
 
If you used the correct amount of water and if needed sugar its likely just not dissolved fully.
 
Hi, have you mixed the grape juice thoroughly with the added water? I did the cal con cab sauv kit ,no sugar needed turned out super.
 
Yes,thanks, as instuctions to 4.5 l. and mixed. Just wondering when to start secondary fermentation.
 
Regards secondry, I just looked at my notes and it went like a train and when I checked the gravity after a few days it had dropped to .994 ,when I racked it to secondry it never changed. It tasted great after a few weeks in the bottle and the last one I managed to keep to one side for 3months and it had improved more.
