Hey everyone

Just wondering, what is the fg at which hydrometer tables work at nowadays considering the quality of the yeast, ie youngs super can go down to 988 in some cases?

Cheers

Explain the question a bit better :wha:

If you're talking about the Potential Alcohol bit, I think most tables assume fermentation's going to stop at 1.000, which it almost never does.

Yes that's what I am on about moley, I am messing with Excel and that 36 points formula you showed me and I was just thinking about the pa column. Right now I am working on around 995 as the typical pa but that's not always the case as wow seems to go 990 area where as country wines seem to be around the 995 mark (i think).

Well cross out the PA column and buy a hydrometer which just has numbers on it, no coloured bands and no other scales.
