I'm being stupid but please help

I bought some of the tubular type airlocks as they are apparently quieter, not 100% on how these work and how much water to put in them etc, anyone explain or have any photos/guide.

Do you mean the S type? If so I fill mine to about half way up the first bubble. Any more and it gets pushed out the top.

Think they are called 3 piece, I already use the S type but they're quite loud.

Figured it out, and boy are they quiet compared to S type

No Bobs, duh!, it only happens when you jam the top on too hard or put under airlock too soon, Somnophore, fill the airlock with water, put finger over bit that goes into the bung, apply top part, water will egress from airlock, remove finger and insert lock into bung, insert bung and lock assembly into neck of DJ................, Simples yes? :
