how long could i get away with leaving my beer in the primary fermenter for? I wont have a chance to keg it off until the 14th of December when i'm back home from Uni. Will it be ok for almost 3 weeks? If not ill have to get someone else to keg it off.

cheers

I don't think it's ideal but having said that, in the past I've left a few of kits in the primary for about 4 weeks and didn't have any problems? Maybe I was just lucky though? :hmm:

:drink:

Shouldn't be a problem; I've just bottled a pale ale after 22 days in the primary FV, I've also left a lager for 45 days before bottling with no off flavours.

Same here - the longer the better up to a point, when the yeast begins to decay. Generally 3 - 4 weeks is fine

Longer means the beer is clearer going into bottles or keg (though you can then find there isn't enough yeast for a good priming via secondary fermentation)
