Last year I brewed a Raspberry Wheat beer it came out very well but Raspberrys are expensive and not very convienient.

Would Lowicz syrup work and how much would I need to add to a 23 litre batch?

Thanks All. Aamcle

It all depends on the sugar in the syrup.

I used Cherry Syrup to replace the sugar in a Wilco kit a couple of years ago and it worked out just fine; but the taste of cherries wasn't as good as I would have liked.

If you look at the details on the label it tells you how much per 100ml is sugar so all you have to do is translate that into the recommendation on the kit.

e.g. Kit calls for 1kg of sugar. Syrup Label says that per 100ml there is 25g of sugar. So 1,000 ÷ 25 = 40 a 100ml.

So you will need 4 litres of syrup to replace the sugar requirement in the brew.

Enjoy!
