Tweaked an oatmeal stout and swopped the usual rolled oats from Tosco's for Malted Oats from the malt miller.
Can anyone help with a potential extract value so I can enter into Beersmith to get an estimate for my starting gravity?

Recipe had 10% and i used an extract rate of 1.037 but this is way to much as i was 6 points short going into the fermenter.

The info is listed on the Beersmith site HERE

EDIT: The BYO website has a potential 1.034 SG rather than the 1.037 stated on beersmith.... :hmm:

In BeerSmith I have 67% extract (dry). I got this figure directly from maltster (Steinbach). I guess others aren't that much different.

You should be able to get Simpsons Naked Oats up your way?
Here's my BeerSmith data for SNO's.

Yield: 70.00 %
Type: Grain
Potential: 1.032
Colour: 19.7
Coarse Fine Diff: 1.50 % Max In Batch: 15.0 %
Moisture: 4.50 Must Mash: FALSE
Diastatic Power: 0.0 Protein: 11.7
Inventory: 0.00 kg
IBU: 0.0
Notes: This unique product from Simpsons has a special, sweet berry-nut flavour. Used at a rate of 4-15% of total grist by weight, Golden Naked Oats will deliver a deep golden hue with light caramel flavours to the finished beer as well as a creamy, satin finish.
