Could you suggest a tool to use if the screw thread under sink is too tight from the water suction please?
One or other of these ... preferably both:

The first tool might just be a tea-towel to get a better grip! After that I’d probably just use a pair of pliers or grips that open wide enough - but try to not squeeze too hard if it’s plastic or you’ll damage it.

Working under the sink is always a bit of a pain because it's cramped in there. But you can help yourself by:
  1. empty everything out of the cupboard first, and clear it well out of the way
  2. spread an old towel in the bottom to catch any drips
  3. TURN OFF the little blue tap (it's just a quarter turn thing)
  4. unscrew the dishwasher connection - you will need to use a spanner, because the connection needs to be fairly tight
  5. screw on the 'Y' adaptor and make sure it's screwed on reasonably tight
  6. make sure both the taps on the adaptor are OFF
  7. turn on the little blue tap again, and watch for drips.
  8. if there are any drips turn the blue tap OFF again and tighten the adaptor up a bit more...

One more thing to note @Tess Tickle : the threads on the washing machine connectors are 3/4" BSP; but the RO kits often only come with a connector for 1/2" BSP; so you might need to get a 3/4" BSP to 1.4" push fit connector. That's no problem, they're only a couple of quid but just to be aware. So long as you're not in a hurry, you could just wait to see if there's one in the kit and if not then buy one afterwards.
