Brewed up a Coopers Canadian Blonde kit last night and never had such a foamy wort.
I rinse my FVs with Starsan which I think creates a bit of foam and pour the cold water in from a height and give it a good stir to make sure it's properly aerated, but not ever seen such thick foam. It was pouring out the top as I added the final couple of litres.
I always pitch my yeast straight from the packet (no rehydration unless the kit instructions say to do this) but I'm never sure whether to stir it in of not - especially when it's being pitched onto the foam rather than into the liquid. I stirred it into this batch because the foam was do thick.
