Hello all and happy Friday.

Was looking for a new hobby in my new home and stumbled across the idea of home brewing. Remembered i have to walk before i can run so have been reading g loads and got the Cooper DIY larger kit. All seems pretty straightforward. If i had one question to ask i guess it would be about the UK water quality in brewing, especial from kits. Am i ok with straight up tap water or do i need campden tablets?

Anyway, first brew taking place today. Love all the tuts on mash tun making and AG brewing but that's for another day...

Cheers Chuck

Hi and welcome.

I've brewed a few times without campden tablets and it turned out fine. I do use them all the time now as i just like to be safe. You may get away with it depending on your water quality, I would use 1 though if you can. 1 crushed CT per 5G brew.

Get on the beers son!
