Hi all, I am confused and I think I need to see someone doing a \'proper\' brew, its all well and good watching videos but its not the same is it?

Can I get away with a normal mash to male lager or do I have to do one of those funny ones with all sort of different temps? Also I think I am gonna be stuk with small batches as I can\'t lift too much - I am sooo weak and i dont think I will be able to wire pumps and all that up, its got to be really simple for me!!!

I am in the Swindon area if anyone is close to me.

Hmmm - swindon - there's probably someone in your neck of the woods.

You can get away without lifting too much if you have a plastic jug and a few 5 litre PET bottles handy :thumb:

I need to knock together a plastic brewery and do a couple of brewdays on that . . . with live video feed etc. . . .

Normal single infusion mash will make great lager, simple recipe tweaks will compensate for the 'benefits' of a complex decoction/temperature stepped mash.

I'm not based in Swindon, but whenever I am brewing you are welcome to come along.

With a couple of 3L jugs, and an insulated 5 gallon Fermenting vessel (In addition to your mash Tun and Boiler) it is more than possible to do a full 5 gallon batch of beer, and you only ever lift a maximum of 2 litres at a time.
