Hello I'm a first time home Brewer, my first attempt is strawberry wine. Everything started out well. After I fermented the must a week I took another hydrometer reading before I racked it into the carboy and the reading was like 1.000. One book I read said it should be at 1.040 or less, let hope it meant waaay less cause I'm scared this is a bad batch. I have the wine in a carboy now finishing out its fermentation process. Is my wine ruined???
Any info would be helpful

It is quite possible for a wine to ferment most of the way out in a week in a bucket, particularly if the temperature's a bit on the high side, and your IP address says Texas.

It doesn't mean your wine's ruined :thumb:

Leave it alone now and let the yeasties do their thing.

Thanks I feel more encouraged. @the IP address, I have no idea what that is but I'll find out my hubby is a phone geek
