Have had a coopers euro lager in the fv for about 5 weeks due to not having had the time to do anything with it. It is really dark! It is my first coopers euro and I am hoping the 12 week conditioning time they recommend will lighten it up.

Have I left it too long in there?

Relax...

Kit lagers are a bit darker than a commercial or all grain craft brewed one to start with.

Then remember that you are looking through about 4 times the distance in your FV than you would in a pint glass and light drop off is exponential so doesn't just look 4x darker more like 40x!

Take a sample and have a look in a glass. :thumb:

I wouldn't worry. The first time I did some lager kits I thought it was going to come out the same colour as a bitter.

It's more of an optical illusion like calum said.

Rest assured it will be the correct colour once you have it in a pint glass :-)
