Hi everyone, I made a fairly simple red grape wow, but now it's all done and ready for bottling it tastes a little...thin(?)...I don't know if that's the word I mean. Is it possible to add body at this point? It's one demijohn in quantity.

a teaspoon for 4L is often used when initially starting the brew.
guess you could divide that and add when you're bottling.
i don't think a half teaspoon per bottle would be bad though.
try it with one bottle and see how it goes (at your own risk etc 😉)

Did you add any tannin? Many use tea bags to make a strong cuppa and add that (not milk or sugar!)

Hi, sorry for the tardy reply, I am grateful for the responses so far.

It was actually freshly squeezed red grape juice from a local vineyard who were getting rid! So it was, I anticipated, quite high in tanin from the off, so I didn't add any extra...

I am going to go with a half t spoon per bottle....and see.

Thank you!

2ml of glycerine per bottle has sorted it.

It was always drinkable, but now it tastes nice!

Thank you all.

asda sell red grape juice in 1ltr bottles in the fridge, sainsburys sell 1ltr cartons of red juice but its from concentrate.

Its staggering to think the during ww2 the uk supply of glycerine then nitroglycerine was obtained by fermentation
just goes to show we home brewers like our bang for the buck.:laugh8:
