I decided after my last brew (ages ago due to work, et al) that my HERMS system based on a 10L burco was too much faffing around and too big.

So......

I happened across a 1kw waltlow firestick cartridge heater on the Bay of E for £25 and then bought the bit's to go around it from BES.

Now; some others on the 'other' forum have done similar, but this is a uk/us built cartridge heater that is 1/2" not 12mm or 16mm or whatever, so no faffing bar the 1/2" to 22m by way of 1/2" Male to female compression for easy strip and clean.

Testing the stick in a pan:

Clearance looks good:

Hopefully a useful post for somebody

All the best
