Shank & Faucet not matching

Bought a 100mm shank for my faucet, appears I may have bought a shank thats not compatible with my faucet - per pic below.
Is there an adapter I can buy to fit them together or do I need to buy a different type of shank/faucet?

I had the same problem. Eventually found a shank on Amazon (plated brass) but they always arrived damaged but usable. Just looked and unfortunately they're not currently available but others are (and might be better). Make sure it says the shank is for adjustable beer tap. This one for example...
