Hi i have pitched beers many times on yeast cakes from a beer I transfered to keg same day as brewing... I have a lager ready to go in keg but don't have ingredients to make a lager right now and don't plan to have any for couple of weeks.. Was wonder could I just transfer the beer to keg leave small layer of beer to cover yeast cake and leave it in fermentation chamber at about ten degree or so and once I get ingredients and brew lager slosh around yeast cake and pitch my new one on top can't really see how there could be much of an issue.. Can't be bothered with the hassle of decanting it to masson jars and that

I reckon you'd be absolutely fine storing the yeast cake for a week or two. Refrigeration temps would be preferable and viability does decrease quite quickly when warmer (from what I understand) but I reckon you'd still be fine.
