Hi i have purchased a Tap to add to my secondary FV and was wondering as to what height from the bottom i should fit it ?

cheers

Lay it up against the outside wall of the FV and adjust until the bottom of the tap is just NOT touching the ground. Thats the best height, mark it and cut a hole suitable for the threaded section of the tap. Job done!

Although, if it's like my tap you can rotate it 90 degrees meaning you can actually fit the tap closer to the bottom than you would otherwise be able. If you plan to use it as a bottling bucket, closer is better.

As jonny says you can do this and its up to you. I was trying to account for maintaining the tap in a clean sanitary condition by not touching the ground un-necessarily.

I was suggesting the same albeit by having to turn it through 90 degrees after use to do so. It's what I would have done had I realised the tap turned before I drilled my hole.
