just went to ikea to pick up the vases that double up as test jars for your hydrometer they take less than 100ml per test great things so i bought 2 cant wait to try them on the stout and ginger beer tomorrow

One reason for having an extra large hydrometer is that I have to have an extra Large Trial jar (in my case an oversize 250ml measuring cylinder which holds 300+ml) . . .because you never return the sample to the fermenter . . . . and it is an offence to the brewing gods if you tip it down the sink :drink:

Funnily enough even though I use a refractometer . . . which only requires a coupl eof drops, I still fill the trial jar :whistle: :whistle: :whistle: :whistle:
